A MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY GENERAL
Wow how good was Paris in both badminton and para badminton; the quality of play, the crowds, the emotions, the memories.
We were certainly treated to many special moments over the past couple of months. Now is the time to really focus on development as we look now to 2028 and 2032 and how we can get more athletes from our region to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
All eyes will be on the BWF YONEX World Junior Team Championships as they play the new Relay scoring system; which will also be in place for the VICTOR Oceania Junior Team Championships in 2025. Best of luck to our four representatives, in particular Northern Marianas who are playing in their first World Championships; undoubtedly this experience will be significant in the development of our young players.

PARALYMPIC GAMES 2024, PARIS
The Olympic flame within the cauldron in the heart of Paris has been extinguished as the 2024 Paralympics comes to an end.
The festival that incorporated both Olympic and Paralympic Games was one to remember for athletes and sports fans. Oceania had three athletes at these games, two representing Australia and one from New Zealand.
- Celine Vinot – AUS – SL3
- Mischa Ginns – AUS – WH2
- Wojtek Czyz – NZL – SL3
The Paralympics is the pinnacle event for these athletes who have worked tirelessly to make it to Paris. Sometimes that is as far as the journey goes, but the inner drive for success will continue.
We congratulate these three determined para badminton players and look forward to seeing them on the world stage in the future.
