ITTF-Oceania and Tonga Table Tennis Federation Recognised by ITTF

ITTF-Oceania and Tonga Table Tennis Federation have been recognised by ITTF, through the ITTF Sustainability Case Studies. These case studies aim to shine a light on positive stories from around the world as table tennis aims to increase its sustainability efforts. Eight case studies were released worldwide and to have two case studies from Oceania demonstrates that we can make a tangible difference in our part of the world.

ITTF-Oceania

The ITTF-Oceania case study highlights how we included sustainability as one of the pillars in our new 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, and in particular how we are looking to incorporate sustainability initiatives into our events, primarily through:

  • Organising multiple events consecutively wherever possible, to reduce the need for multiple flights by participating Member Associations.
  • Utilising existing table tennis venues and equipment wherever possible to limit new purchases and minimise transportation costs.

Tonga Table Tennis Federation

The Tonga Table Tennis Federation case study highlights how they have used the Smash Down Barriers Program to improve the lives of people with a disability living in Tonga. The Program aims to change cultural perceptions about people with a disability and specifically targets remote villages, in particular school students, coaching courses and weekly inclusive activities.
