Australian Sports Commission Releases New Community Officiating Essential Skills Course

The Australian Sports Commission has released a new Community Officiating Essential Skills Course on the Australian Sport Learning Centre. This free online course is for all community sport officials. It has replaced the Community Officiating – General Principles Course, which has been retired.

About the Community Officiating Essential Skills Course

The new course will help you take a modern approach to officiating, focusing on participants, their needs and motivations. It’s about creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable sporting environment for everyone involved.

You will learn how to manage challenges in modern sporting environments, grow your skills and support participants to have a great experience.

Whether you are a new, continuing or highly experienced official, this course is for you!

Complete the course on your terms

The Essential Skills Course has a flexible structure, with 7 modules that you can complete anytime, anywhere, on any device.

We recommend you complete the course in the order shown below, but you may choose to complete one or more modules whenever it suits you. Each module will take around 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
