During February 2023, the Oceania Gymnastics Union (OGU) welcomed Charles Perriere (France) and Nicolas Fischer (Switzerland) to the Gold Coast for a Parkour Coaching Camp.
Participants came from every Member Federation and comprised of 45% women (a record for this coaching course!)
Over five days the coaches were immersed in learning how to teach Parkour using the surrounds that can be found back home, like trees, walls, poles and rails. It was fantastic to be enlightened as to how easily a successful Parkour program can be run safely with no equipment. The coaches got so much out of the course, with many heading back to their home country and working to establish a program to build participation in Parkour across the region.
