Oceania Athletics Masters Cup

Oceania Athletics is excited to announce that Nuku’alofa, Tonga, will host a major Oceania Athletics event in 2025.

The Oceania Athletics Masters Cup will be held alongside the Oceania Athletics Cup, featuring teams invited from Melanesia, Micronesia, Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, Tonga, and Regional Australia. This event offers the next generation a chance to explore the pathways athletics provides to people of all ages and abilities.

We are pleased to confirm that entries for the Oceania Athletics Masters Cup 2025 are now open. The competition will run over four (4) days, from 29 October to 1 November, in Nuku’alofa, Tonga.

Tonga was originally scheduled to host the Oceania Athletics Association Polynesian Regional Championships in 2020, but the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. OAA is now thrilled to bring international athletics back to the Kingdom of Tonga for the first time since 1998.

Previously, Tonga hosted the 1989 South Pacific Mini Games and the 1998 Oceania U18 Athletics Championships at the newly resurfaced and renovated Teufaiva Stadium. The country will once again host international athletics at the same venue in October/November 2025.

The Oceania Athletics Masters Cup welcomes athletes aged 30 and above, with 5-year age categories starting at 30. The top three competitors in each age group will be awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.

To make the event more accessible, Oceania Athletics will not charge an administration fee for masters’ athletes. Entry fees are AUD 15.00 per event, while the Throws Pentathlon and Pentathlon will cost AUD 25.00 per event.
