The Pacific Games Council (PCG) thanks OSFO and its members for participating in the PGC’s Sports Program Review.
A once in every four years exercise following the Pacific Games – which were successfully hosted by Samoa in July – the Sports Program Review is where the entire sports program is reviewed leading into the next Games – to be held in the Solomon Islands in 2023 – and the upcoming bid process for the 2027 Games.
The PGC Sports Committee met at the Oceania Athletics Association headquarters on the Gold Coast from November 6 to 7. OSFO Executive members participating in the Sports Committee’s deliberations were Yvonne Mullins (Athletics), Ryan Pini (Athletes’ Representative) and Milton Bradley (Shooting). In addition to their participation in the meeting, approximately 20 Oceania Federations wrote submissions for the Sports Committee to consider.
Final recommendations from the Sports Committee will be considered by the PGC General Assembly in 2020.
The Pacific Games Council thanks OSFO and its members for its enduring partnership and support to develop sport in the Pacific.
